Thats right, the launch was successful, but it failed to respond to the wake up signal once in orbit.
Apparently it crashed or went dead and they could not communicate with it any more.. so they joke about it in the ad. :S
wat do you mean they lost a satellite?
I remember the big deal people made about them mentioning their lost satellite in the commercial and making a joke about it.
Apparently they did lose a satellite fo real.
this add doesnt seem like its nearly 20 years old

I don’t remeber this particular ad, but I do remember their being a lot of press about Optus in 1993, I was 9 years old then. In 2002, I bought my first mobile phone from Optus, it was the Nokia 3310, great phone for its time.
