    Yes

This movie is so classic! If you wanted to see an Indiana Jones movie that shows how great Indiana is, you should see this one. By the way, am I the only one who liked Temple of Doom?

  3. arnyjk says:

No, Temple of Doom was also great. All of the first three were!

  4. Khaur says:

No I loved it. FINALLY another TOD fan!

  5. HeroOfTime121 says:

Yes! I’m not the only lover of that movie.

  6. 1971ScoobyDoo says:

colmhearne, i agree Dr Schneider was also my fave, a real kick ass woman and Marion who could drink any man under the table. However, i really wanted to wring Willies neck, all that screaming and moaning.

  7. 1971ScoobyDoo says:

By far the best of the Indie films and so funny with Sean Connery in it. Raiders was also brilliant. The Temple of Doom film, i feel was the weakest of the series and the latest film although i was really looking forward to it was atrocious.

    That’s great to hear. :)

  10. daisyhotchy21 says:

omg. fantastic film it’s got a gr8 cast of actors. i found a copy at “bigmovies4free” – hope they make another :P

  11. colmhearne says:

Yeah, I agree with Marion was good too

  12. timberwolf84 says:

I respect your opinion. I liked Marion because she was tough. Remember the bar scene in “Raiders” when she gives Indy a good punch in the chin? That’s why I like her.

  13. colmhearne says:

Well I think she’s the best-looking out of all of them and the actress, Allison Doody is Irish like me

  14. timberwolf84 says:

    Y Dr. Schneider?

  15. colmhearne says:

My favourite lead female character in order is
    1. Dr. Elsa Schneider (I only wish she wasn’t a Nazi)
    2. Marion Ravenwood
    3. Willie Scott

  16. timberwolf84 says:

Which one is your favorite lead female character? Mine is Marion Ravenwood from “Raiders” and “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

  17. degree7 says:

Perhaps you may not think it measures up to the sequels (although I enjoy it as a prequel)

But as a stand alone film, I’d rate it as a solid 8/10 movie.

Yeah, Crystal Skull was rhubbish though, wasn’t it.

  18. colmhearne says:

I became an Indiana Jones fan when I saw the fourth one in the summer 2008. Then I got the thrilogy for Christmas and I watched them all.
    1. The Last Crusade
    2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
    3. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    4. The Temple of Doom

Compare the bimbo in Temple of Doom to the women in the first and third installments: a beautiful and educated blonde PhD and a good lookin’, hard-drinkin’ entrepreneur – each very compatible with Jones. The dumb bitch in T.O.D whines intolerably about breaking her nails. And the kid? He had a couple of moments, but overall, he’s simply a nuisance. T.O.D is WAY too cartoonish and stupid to be ranked with 1 and 3. Crystal Skull was the worst of all, though.

  20. degree7 says:

I assume you didn’t think much of the opening scenes either?

  21. degree7 says:

Whether or not you liked the supporting characters is subjective. I found the asian kid to be entertaining and so did I the female character.

As for the plot resembling that of a Sunday morning cartoon…. hello?!
That’s what Indiana Jones is! A homage to the Saturday morning matinee serials from the 30s and 40s.

Personally, I think the reason audiences disliked it so was because it was the darkest of the three, which is precisely why I liked it.

  22. johnnytastetest says:

You can’t find much wrong with it?! I outlined why Temple of Doom was such an inferior movie below. Its plot was just as absurd as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The only neat parts of that movie for me as a small child were when the guy gets his heart ripped out, the banquet of horror, and when Jones does that ballsy chop of the rope bridge with the machete. Other than that, the movie sucked.

  23. degree7 says:

    *Disagree

Temple of Doom was a great movie, even as a stand alone from the rest of the franchise. I can’t find much wrong with it.

Summer of 1989, when I saw Last Crusade and became an Indiana Jones fan. Lost Ark is my favorite though.

    Young Indiana Jones Series: B+

    Temple of Doom: A-

Raiders of the Lost Ark: A+

    Last Crusade: A

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: F-

  25. powerhousechipmunk23 says:

To me this is the best of the series. Raiders was awesome, Temple was slightly embarrasing with Willie, and Kingdom was bloody confusing! I mean who in the right mind, stuck in an abandoned town that was going to be hit with an atomic bomb, hides in a fridge? A FRIDGE!
