If you’ll remember, when Leno first came on, Letterman was kicking his ass in the ratings. It wasn’t until Letterman did the Oscars that Leno beat him and he’s been ahead ever since. So yeah, I do really think Leno cares. Regardless of the fact that he’s a sneaky, back stabbing bastard.
No, Carson wanted Letterman to replace him. It was NBC’s decision to hire Leno.
Yeah Leno, Oprah, Letterman = LOL!
What a shocker… Amazing commercial… Wow what people will do for comedy… PS Go team COCO!!!
I think it’s great that three legends like Leno, Oprah and Letterman teamed up like that. I never would’ve imagined it myself. Kudos to all!
uh, what does it mean? tune into letterman? tune into leno? oprah? i get the yucks….just don’t get the point.
This is so cool. . .
I heard Jay was incognito and was snuck into Letterman’s studio for the shoot.
Actually, it was shot in NYC at the Sullivan Theater with all three in attendance. Winfrey and Leno each arrived separately by private jets, and the whole shoot lasted less than 30 minutes.
where was Kimmel? lol
@pithytrish dont be an idiot.
at this point I don’t think Jay Leno really cares what people will see him as. He knows that more fans will watch letterman anyway so it won’t matter.
this is best commercial ever
Don’t be silly. They were all shot on green screen and composited later…LA/Chicago/NYC. No way they were all in the same room. I’ll never believe it. Nice CGI work on making Letterman’s sleeve wrinkle though when she jabs him.
No one can touch David Letterman, not Jay Leno, or Jimmy Fallon and Definitly not Jimmy Kimmel.
LOL ! Gotta love Letterman !
I was unaware of that! Why didn’t he take it? then Conan o’ Brian would Keep his job and as a bonus, Jimmy Kimmel would be gone.
you are a stupid cunt..’m happy you are so glad..you are a poor ass and those three are wealthy….dumb cunt
oprahs a fat nigger
Yes. According to the producers, they were both professional about it. Leno flew in to NYC on NBC’s corporate jet, and they snuck Leno into to Daves theater wearing a disguise. They filmed the commercial together in 25 minutes. The commercial was all Daves idea. .
Best commercial of the night! It is an official CBS commercial for the Letterman show, but the exposure helps them all.
I love these three TV giants. Oprah and Jay are Chasters already so we need to win David over soon. Dave has a good eye for talent so should not be hard. (Chaster is a Charice fan)
@leroyinc: Yes, both Oprah Leno had to fly to NY incognito to film this at Lettermans request, Leno travelled in disguise to keep it secret.
The humor is not in the content of the advertisement itself, but in the surprise of seeing these two rivals together after so long — that’s what makes it funny. Understand?
Wait a minute — were Letterman and Leno actually in the same room together? I’m confused.
Daves producer called Conan’s producer Jeff Ross and asked if Conan wanted to be in it but Conan told Ross there is too much going on for Conan right now.
wow that was the worst nfl promo ad ever. two old fucks circling around some dumb old bitch can’t do shit nigger. honestly.
Not sure about the jab part. NBC secretly signed a deal with Leno years before, that he would get the Tonight show after Carson.
