No Mag Radio Commercial (Rare radio ad from the early 80′s) – The Bangles *Audio + Lyrics*

Bangles – No Mag Commercial. Short audio commercial recorded by the Bangles for LA underground zine called ‘No Mag’. Released on ‘The Radio Tokyo Tapes’, a compilation of early 1980s LA bands. The song is actually a variation of their song “Getting Out Of Hand” with different lyrics about ‘No Mag’ and was actually recorded when the Bangles were still known as the Bangs. It was at the release party for No Magazine’s issue, Vol. 2, No. 7, which featured an interview with The Bangs themselves, that the girls had re-written and performed the first verse and chorus of their tune “Getting Out Of Hand”, to coincide with the magazine. No-Mag co-founder Bruce Karlberg was so impressed that he had The Bangs record their new version and it was distributed on LA radio for what is now considered their infamous “No-Mag Radio Commercial”. Steven Seagal’s Lighting Bolt commercial – GET CHARGED!!!

3 years ago my friend sent me a link to a website that was selling energy drinks. Little did I know the link would lead me to something I was totally not expecting. No, it didn’t lead me to lemonparty or goatse or anything like that, but an energy drink actually endorsed and brewed by action movie super star and spiritualist, STEVEN SEAGAL. Hardly being able to believe my eyes, I ordered a few cans to see if it was a hoax. 3 days later 10 cans of Steven Seagal’s Lightning Bolt were waiting for me on my door step. I tore the box open, looked at the can and then cracked it open. At first the taste was bad, but once the after taste set in I was hooked. I finished the whole can and upon drinking the last drop I felt a great surge of energy. Lightning bolts shot forth from my hands! Actually, I do enjoy the drink and was waiting for it to make its way to store shelves here in Canada, but after 3 years I still haven’t be able to find it anywhere. Checking the internet I noticed that there had been no real commercial endorsement for this product, so, with the help of my friends, I took it upon myself to make a commercial for it. So this is my homage to Steven Seagal’s Lightning Bolt all natural energy elixir. The only energy drink on the market that doesn’t make your kidneys hurt. Enjoy
