The most memorable 28 seconds ever broadcast on commercial TV was appropriately, a commercial. But what a commercial! This 1979 commercial for Chanel No. 5 perfume, set to a cover of the 1941 Inkspots hit “I don’t want to set the World on Fire” was directed by the famed Ridley Scott. In my opinion, this is the greatest commercial ever made. Thanks to louisadeck for posting this. My post is admittedly redundant. But I wanted to be absolutely certain this clip would not suddenly vanish from the web, and I wanted to provide my own commentary.

I don’t think I really need to introduce this one. Bady D’s Let Me Be Your Fantasy was released way back in 1992 and was an instant hit being cained everywhere. It was constantly in the top 200 for 2 years selling over 40000 copies. The big surprise was that in 1994 the tune was signed to London Records and re-released at which point it promptly went to number 1 in the UK charts selling about a quarter of a million copies.
