Rolling Thunder was released unto the grindhouse circuit sometime around 1977. It was written by Paul Schrader of "Taxi Driver" fame and starred Tommy Lee Jones in one of his earliest screen performances. It also pleased a small amount of critics, with Gene Siskel listing it on his "Ten best films of 1977" and several modern day critics praising its superiority as a deathwish film.
