Go Bots Toy Commercial

March 5th, 2010

Pretend to save the world with your best friend and your…dad!? I guess you had to if you were to poor to get Transformers and real friends. OK, I owned Leader-1, but sure as hell didn’t go “pew pew” w/ my pops.

1973 Commercials: Haley’s, Mattel, Ban, Renuzit, Prime Variety, Jello

February 3rd, 2010

**These commercials are kind of squiggly, but were dubbed in the best quality possible** 1. Haley’s MOlaxative (It’s MOK!) 2. Mattel Tuff Stuff shopping cart (with the plastic grapes!) 3. Ultra Ban 5000 antiperspirant 4. Renuzit Air Freshener (this is the commercial that was parodied in the 1977 film Kentucky Fried Movie!) 5. Prime Variety (that dog doesn’t want the same old thing!) 6. Jello Instant Pudding (I swear that I saw this ad in the mid 70s as well) **These commercials are from my 1970-1979 Commercials Volume 2**

United States Savings Bonds 3. The Brick Warehouse 4. Movie Special Bumpers 5. Harvey’s (The British influence during the 80’s is quite puzzling) 6. Scope 7. Godiva Chocolates 8. Yuban Decaffeinated 9. Kentucky Nuggets at Kentucky Fried Chicken 10. Colt (”It’s all the Japanese you need to know.” LOLWUT) 11. Movie Special Bumper (It’s “MY Side of the Mountain” announcer guy! You are a disgrace to your profession!) 12. Cordon Negro 13. Businessland 14. Promo for “Solid Gold Christmas” 15. Perche No! 16. Hertz (A word of advice to Arnold Palmer: pissing off OJ Simpson may not be the best idea. Also featuring Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith) 17. Toys ‘R Us (With Jenny Lewis. I wish I’d had those Chipmunks stuffed animals as a kid) 18. Schweppes 19. Businessland (I’ll be having nightmares about that bird woman well into my old age) 20. Ford 21. The Good Guys (I wasn’t aware that Santa was a coked-out electronics salesman in the 80’s)

1977 Commercials: Super Hero Power Shield, Fae Mart, Carvel Contest

January 4th, 2010

1. Fun Stop Super Hero Power Shield–Shoot spinners at your enemies and block theirs with your Power Shield (I like the Captain America one the best!) 2. Fae Mart Discount Department Store in Brooklyn–Get a nice Cuisinart in the fourth largest city in America! 3. Carvel “Little Miss Half Pint” Beauty Contest–What a cute, little contest!
