More fun from Network Control as Debbie Shore (no idea where Gary Terzza is) links from Sign A Story into Emu’s World. The BFI website suggests that the Prince Cinders episode of what is basically Jackanory for children who are hard of hearing went out on Thursday, 14th July, 1988, so that’s my best guess for original air date. I’ve included the entire ad break for historical interest – look out for the “limited edition” blue Smarties, Michael Jackson from Woolworths, Quavers, Weetabix, and a rather suggestive and not-entirely-appropriate-for-the-target-audience offering from Limara. (Please remember that this is an off-air VHS recording, so don’t go expecting 1080p HD quality. I’m fairly certain that this video isn’t commercially available, and I’ve uploaded it for its historic interest only.
